@Jim, the thing that makes slickdeals my main stop for deals is the thriving community. the incentive to post excellent deals is encouraged by the abundance of criticism that inherently squashes crappy or ho-hum deals.

though I imagine you know this already, since you almost certainly have a personal stake in deal roxor. I nearly deleted your comment because it is spammy, but since it doesn’t have a link, I posted some feedback instead.

ok, seems we must do

sudo rfcomm bind 0 first

but I still get tossed out. the linux log says nothing but the phone says “handsfree connection terminated” or something like that.

I wonder about the way naraku.net renders that chatscript. for example, it looks like

” ATZ

but shouldn’t that read

” ATZ

as in quote-quote-space ATZ

and then the next line shows

OK-AT-OK

which is a chat command I’ve never seen before :)

I have these files in place and I have Network service enabled in the Bluetooth Applet, but that screen shows no network devices and the pppd call command cannot find any /dev/rfcomm* devices.

Is there a missing step?

yup it’s true. bandwidth exceeded. you can thank some crazy chinese kids for posting it in a hongkong BB… I received over 800 page loads last thursday, bringing my free photobucket bandwidth to a screetching halt. oh well…!
